We have taken the decision to officially stand down The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta® flight for Sunday 22nd October.
The weather conditions for Sunday do not look favourable, however there is also a high volume of rainfall expected within the next 48 hours, making ground conditions an issue.
This is the last standby date for the 2023 event and we now roll to 2024. We will announce the 2024 event dates in due course and we thank you for your continued patience and support of the event.
We have taken the decision to stand down The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta® for the standby date of Sunday 1st October due to forecasted high winds.
We now roll to the next and final standby date of Sunday 22nd October.

The flight will proceed on the first date that the weather is suitable. Please keep checking this page and our social media for further updates and weather information, closer to the time.
We have taken the decision to stand down The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta® flight for Sunday 2nd July 2023.
Both wind speeds and direction are beyond safe limits. The wind direction is heading straight down the river, which would leave very few landing sites before we reached Holland.
While this is currently the last standby date for the The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta®, we are now actively investigating availability and options for another date later in the year to reschedule. We will of course keep you updated in regards to the outcome.
We are monitoring the wind speed and direction for The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta® flight for Sunday 2nd July 2023.
Currently the conditions are not ideal, but it is not out of the question that the flight could proceed, if the forecast were to change.
We therefore remain on standby and will provide a further weather update tomorrow afternoon.

While the forecasted wind direction is not ideal there is also strong winds forecast throughout our flying window.
We now roll to the next stand-by date of 2nd July 2023.

While the forecasted wind direction is not ideal, this is also due to the current ground conditions in the South East and the predicted rainfall over the next two days.
